Laura Mallory Psychotherapy
Self-Criticism
If you grew up feeling like you had to be perfect, quiet, good, careful to keep the peace, you may have turned your anxiety inward. That shows up today as a harsh inner critic that we will work to quiet.
Reduce Anxiety
& episodes of Panic
If you struggle with episodes of panic (racing heart, feelings of fear, racing thoughts), we can discuss breathing techniques and cognitive strategies to reduce your fear of panic and the panic itself. As a therapist for 21 years , I have treated people with all types of anxiety; social anxiety, generalized anxiety, obsessions and compulsions as well as specific phobias.
Emotion-focused therapy/parts work
If you would like change to happen a bit faster, you can try this type of therapy that I offer. Emotion-focused therapy really brings to life the parts of you that have been ignored. This therapy can improve the way your relate to yourself (you learn to soothe yourself when upset) and this in turn often improves relationships with others.
Self-Esteem
Teaching you to be more compassionate with yourself will be a big part of therapy with me. Self-compassion is so effective in reducing shame, self-criticism, perfectionism and increasing assertiveness with others.
